Koy Thomson to leave London Cycling Campaign

LCC's chief executive is to leave on 23rd July to become chief executive of the charity Children in Crisis.

Koy Thomson said: "It has been a huge privilege to lead LCC and be part of such a great campaigning heritage.

"As cycling takes its rightful place in the political mainstream, and cycling grows, it is even more important to have a powerful and independent grassroots voice fighting for quality infrastructure and people friendly streets.

"LCC is a heady mix of campaigners, borough activists, cycle enthusiasts, volunteers, staff, trustees, and members, and I want to thank them all for the support, enthusiasm, and commitment to changing London for the better."

Prior to heading up LCC, Koy Thomson worked for development charity Action Aid.

Andy Cawdell LCC's Chair said: "Koy has worked tirelessly to improve conditions for London cyclists and to persuade decision-makers to put cycling at the centre of their vision for the city.

"He has broadened LCC's circle of friends and supporters and kept us at the centre of influence. We will miss his contribution and wish him well, as we look to the next exciting phase of LCC's work."

LCC has appointed headhunting firm Harris Hill to assist in the search for a new CEO.
