Video teaches 'bike talk' in five minutes

Bicycle Anatomy for Beginners also features a 'bespoke' soundtrack, music made from twanging bike parts

Bicycle Anatomy for Beginners from Quickrelease.tv on Vimeo.

The video above has been produced for newbies to cycling. Click on full screen or go to the Vimeo site for the video in a wider format. The video zooms into bike parts and names them.

So, if you don't know your dropout from your seatpost this is the video for you. Cycle enthusiasts will get a kick out of the music. It was created from hitting a bunch of bikes.

Music maestro Greg Johnston turned bike sound recordings into 'bespoke' music. The 'song' is now on Libsyn (or subscribe to a podcast on iTunes): it's an MP3 called Bong. Psst. Twang. Whirr. Psst.

If you like the music and you have an iPhone, download this free ringtone and manually place in iTunes to sync, or subscribe to the podcast on iTunes for the download and sync to be automatic.

The video is also available in an Apple TV version on iTunes or as a direct download from Libsyn. Want it on your iPod? It's here on iTunes and Libsyn.
